I am advertising to both genders so there will be specific channels to attract the women who make men's decisions (eloped women) and men who want a fast family car (eloped men).
For the men:
I will like my ad to be on Spike TV, News Channels, and sorting events. These are the kinds of channels that are mainly streaming their most watched shows after work. Usually the men watching after work have a job that occupies them during the day because they have families to take care of. This will maximize the target market I am going for. This ad campaign will attract successful men who want a mid-life crisis kind of car.
For the women:
I will like my ad to be on Lifetime, the Food Channel, and Oxygen. The ad is a funny commercial and it reads as follows.
A Lexus GS F is driving down a windy road down the California coast. The superman song is playing. You are than inside the car and a man is intensely driving very concentrated. When he peers next to him at his wife, there is silence. The next shot is of his wife enjoying the scenery with a classical song playing. She stretches out and looks back at her kids a smiles enjoying the new family car. The shot cuts back to the married couple gazing at each other in that silence and they smile. The next shot is of the Lexus GS F driving down the windy road with the superman song and the slogan appears, "get the bets of both worlds with the Lexus GS F".
This is a humorous way to portray the two ways this car can be perceived. To a man it's fast and speedy. To a woman its spacious and safe with a fun edge. You get the best of both worlds.

Week 9: EOC MOVIE COMPARED TO PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
What is similar between this years 2016 presidential campaign is that we are having to pick between all candidates that are equally as terrifying as the dictator that oppressed Chile. Picking which presidential candidate during the 2016 election is like picking what STD you are okay with living with for the rest of your life. We are screwed.
In the movie, the main character is chosen to lead a revolutionary campaign to get a longstanding dictatorship voted out of office.
The initial approach of course was fear. People thought that instilling fear of the past would make people vote no. the main character's determination to focus on what their home would like afterwards was what he wanted to portray. He wanted to focus on the positive feelings that it would give people when considering what they wanted to vote. He felt as though feelings of good would be more memorable.
Bernie sanders is really all about making people feels good. Obviously, I am for him. He seems to be more for the people than anyone else. Unlike, Bernie, Trump supports fear to instill his votes. Though he only appeals to one target market, it is sad to learn that there are a lot of those kinds of people amongst us still.
The main character's well being was threatened multiple times during his anti-dictatorship campaign was running. Just like the movie, plenty of trump rallies have turned into violent brawls. There has even been a raise of hate crimes since his run. Anyone who opposes the fear he instills is attacked, just like the ad campaign running to vote out the dictatorship.
Pretty much choosing what presidential candidate I want is like picking what STD I'm okay living with for the rest of my life. They all kind of suck. However, if I had to choose I feel like Bernie is the best one out of them all.

Week 7 EOC: The pitch
2016 Lexus
GS F
This is
conventially, not a woman’s car. Whatever that means. So that is why I picked
this car. It’s just so fast and just a monster of a car. This 4,034 pound sedan
packs a punch in the engine considering its advancements in its Torque vectoring enhancements. Its goes 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
A huge factor that I love about this sports car is the fact that you can be
ecologically friendly. The Lexus GS F has Eco, Norm, Sport S and Sport S+
settings. That is four options for a transmission. I personally think it is a
crime to purchase an automatic sports car, but that is not my prerogative. I am a
huge fan of a good suspension. I love the practicality of Toyotas, but golly do
I hate the loose suspension. I like to know that I can make quick judgements
and that my car will follow suit. The Lexus GS F has a stiffer reinforced core
that leaves the car feeling confident and planted under virtually all
conditions. The TVD was a genuine confidence builder as were the upsized Brembo
binders that match a solid pedal feel with smooth, straight and fade-free
stops. But let us focus on what really caught my attention. The size of
the cabin is impeccably forgiving. Usually my experience with sports cars is
being jam packed in them. This car features nice leg room for its back inhabitants,
and a comfy, butt hugging driver and passenger seat.
“main touchscreen with navigation and the latest Remote Touch
Interface controller, all set off with trim elements from fine leather and
Alcantara to carbon fiber and piano black. The 12-speaker/299-watt premium
audio system can swapped for a 17-speaker/750-Watt Mark Levinson surround sound
system that also brings Clari-Fi music restoration technology, which except for
the orange Brembo brake calipers, is the only other option.”
This all
sounds like a great car I can advertise as it is possible to touch on every
target market.

EOC Lady Gaga and the Grammy's
I give lady Gaga’s performance a huge thumbs up for setting
the bar of what true entertainment and talent really is. For those who are
questioning Intel’s agenda when considering advertising during a David Bowe
tribute is ridiculous. Intel is allowed to love and cherish David Bowie as much
as the next person.
I think that what is really important is the fact that Intel
did this tribute well. If it was not them, it was going to be someone else. The
tribute displayed works of technology at the most advanced degree. I think that
if anyone was going to do a tribute, it should have been them, and hey, there
is nothing wrong with informing people how you achieved such greatness. We
would have wondered who was behind that fantastic performance anyways.
In the early stages of Lady Gaga’s career, she started becoming
something she didn’t like or assimilate with. In her earliest career, Lady Gaga
was told what to do and not to do by controlling PR companies. She began
rejecting what she was told to do and began to do what she is passionate about.
Ever since, she has been unstoppable. Lady Gaga is on a fast track, if not already
reached her stop, to becoming an Icon. She tackles difficult subjects by
exposing them in the rawest form, and works with subjects others wouldn’t dare
even tread on. Whenever you see her, you know it’s controversial and has deep
meaning. Nothing she does is pointless. She is an idea not a thing. People follow
why -- not what.
The Grammys have really set themselves apart in the award
industry. The Grammys now feel like it is a must watch every single year. It’s
like they constantly get better and better which can sometimes be frightening.
Do you really want to set the bar higher and higher for advertising agencies?
When there is a disappointment, it will be huge. We have so much expectation
now when it comes to the Grammy’s , that I know if there was one slip or fall,
the response would be brutal.
With millions of viewers, the artists performing for free
really got free publicity. The exposure, such as Beyoncé and the super bowl
2016, is amazing. As Beyoncé announced a new album after being able to perform
and earn free publicity through the most watch event in the entire world, lady
gaga arose questions about her involvement with intel and made you wonder about
their future entertainment plans for thirsty onlookers.

EOC CIGARETTE AD
A man in a scenic environment holding Salem Cigarettes who I solder, handsome, and has a starge look upon his face.
The setting is a handsome man in a scenic area smoking a Salem.
The people and groups are the man, cigarettes, and the tobacco company. Also you could include the person viewing this advertisement.
The point of view is the fact that Cigrette smoking is good-- if you are smoking the right brand. Here this question posed is supposed to make the rreader question why they indeed do not like to smoke. This ad presents and answer. Smoking Salems are the best out there, and if you have not tried one, that is why you do not like smoking
The goal of this ad is to appeal to the non-smokers of the world. A quite handsome man with wisdom in his eyes asks a simple question that ultimately makes you question your own morals. Their goals are to make you try their cigarettes in hopes to make you think you will like them.
Their assumptions is the fact that people who do not like to smoke, have merely smoke the wrong brand of cigarettes.
There is a conflict between reader and corporation.
EOC WOMEN IN ADVERTISING
Women in advertising are quite the boring subject really. Even in my advertising class, we constantly are talking about gender. Other topics we have yet to cover to name a few are elderly people, children, foreign inhabitants of our country, students, teachers, musicians, etc. Usually, there are plenty of topics to discuss in regards to advertising, yet we always seem to be focusing on gender norms, degradation of women, etcetera.
Why are we (women) always a topic of discussion? I have yet to wrap my mind around why our lives and the way we live them are always every one else's concern. But as I tackled this assignment one sexist comment at a time, I will reel my somewhat feminist head and continue to talk about what is already a very dull and boring subject on my end.
What do you think of women in advertising? Do you think that the photo shopped images are realistic realities women can achieve? Or do you think that they are just another way to oppress and sustain our existence in this world? Whenever women are featured in any advertisement, they are sexualized, good for one thing, kind of ads. The Burger King ad above is the epitome of what we, as women, see on a day to day basis. Literally walking down the street (while being told to smile) minding our own business, the reality of what we should be is shoved down our throats (which I don't think many men could hold in their thoughts when reading that last line).
Pretty much, women in advertising is a mislead, totally bogus, manipulating, self-imploding work of the upper man. We aid in everyone else's lives and dreams as always and continue to support our own bodies being used for other peoples pleasure. We continue to supply garbage for young girls doing well in mathametics, science, etcetera, just make sure that they grow up to know that their bodies are all they need to get what they want. They think what they want is what advertising has shown them such as lots of money (usually not even their own), big engagement rings, trips to cabo with their girlfriends, and a few unappreciative children.
Women in advertising is a joke. It is not realistic. And we all know this. Yet we keep coming back for seconds to feed our undying thirst for social media and crap that just doesn't matter. In a perfect world, women should refuse advertising gigs for ten years so that the world could experience true talent in advertsing, and not constantly using up every women that we have in order to sell pointless things.

EOC Week 1: VW Lemon
After WWII, relations between
America and Germany would have seemed to take more time than a decade and a
half. The work between old wounds
was entertaining. It was, what we call today, “breaking the internet”. In
retrospect, it broke the advertising industry. The advertising agency
Doyle Dane Bernbach (DDB) is responsible for revolutionizing modern advertising
with one simple word.
The driving force behind the Volkswagen
campaign was William
Bernbach of DDB. Bernbach is
considered the father of the “creative revolution” in the advertisement
industry. “All of us who professionally use the mass media are the shapers of
society. We can vulgarize that society. We can brutalize it. Or we can help
lift it onto a higher level,”
The
point of this ad is to accentuate VW’s purpose of only producing quality
vehicles. It then describes the process that is applied to receive a passing
grade regarding VW standards. While holding high standards, they defeated their
history with humor.
Below the image follows a statement that
proclaims that this particular car was rejected by Inspector Kurt Kroner
because of a blemish on the chrome piece of the glove box.
Matching
the simplicity of the ad with a simple statement contrasted the manufacturing
of more eccentric features provided by American car companies. The ad was
humorous and intrigued the reader to read the fine print. Before this ad, wordy
ads creating an eye sore of a novel selling what, then sold selling why. They
sold a belief not new features that sounded like more money to the common
American. With one word, this ad changed the game of advertising forever.
Direct and to the point with a touch of
humor, the ad has stood the test of time and will be remembered for many
generations as a breakthrough in product to consumer relations.
